Ever wonder where the adventurous locals disappear to? Come find out! Explore the freedom of a true African Safari as well as camping in the wild. Just you, the stars and the wild life.

African Bush Safaris leads self-drive tours throughout Southern Africa in places that are usually inaccessible to the average tourist. This means that you will drive your own 4×4 vehicle and experience an adventure of a lifetime. If this seems a little overwhelming, we can assure you that by the end of your trip, you will be quite proficient in off-road driving. Alternatively, we can provide a driver. This experience is definitely for the adventurous at heart with no age limit!

Our first passion in life is the bush and nature, we have extensive knowledge of the history, the tribes as well as the wildlife in the area. We do recommend the camping option as this allows us to access areas that would normally be inaccessible to those who stay in lodges. There is no better way to experience Africa than to camp in the wild with no fences. We cook over fires, carry our food from campsite to campsite, with the added bonus of being surrounded by wildlife. Have a look at our Facebook page photos of trips to get a true understanding of the experience.

Botswana is not a cheap travel destination but it is worth every penny to be able to explore and see animals in their natural habitat with minimal interference by man. This is not an experience you can expect in most of the other destinations.

Namibia is an incredibly photographic country with scenery that eats into your soul. It is an arid country full of surprises, rivers in the desert, huge sand dunes, massive canyons, rock formations that just have to be photographed and animals in places you would think they just cannot survive. For a lot of people it is about the different destinations but for us the trip is just as exciting.

Mana Pools Game Reserve  – A game reserve in the extreme North of Zimbabwe on the Zambezi river and bordering Zambia. Dominated by huge trees. During the rains, most of the big game animals move away from the river and into the escarpment. They start returning to the riverine areas from around April, as the pans in the bush dry up. As the year progresses, increasingly

Kafue National Park is a unique area. The enormous size (one of the biggest National Parks in Africa), the many different habitats and the huge variety of mammals and birds make it an area waiting to be explored. It is Zambia’s biggest and oldest National Park and is easily accessed from both Lusaka and Livingstone. But the best of all is the untouched wilderness that the park has to offer as mass tourism does not exist; leaving the park
